Position Summary The Director of Adult Basic Education/Gateway Center Coordinator is responsible for overseeing CNCC's Adult Basic Education program, which includes GED and ESL courses, as well as managing the Gateway Center operations on the Craig campus. The ideal candidate will provide educational support beyond the classroom and ensure that students receive the resources and guidance they need to succeed. Primary Responsibilities Lead and manage the General Education Diploma (GED) and English as a Second Language (ESL) programs, including creating class schedules and monitoring student progress. Analyze student performance data to enhance skill gains and retain students, ensuring successful transitions to postsecondary education and the workforce. Ensure compliance with program requirements and collaborate with leadership to improve program outcomes. Engage in grant writing or administration to support and expand developmental education initiatives. Coordinate tutoring services and academic study groups, providing training and supervision for tutors. Design and implement programming related to college readiness, including test-taking strategies and effective study skills. Build partnerships with local workforce agencies and community organizations to facilitate student transitions into employment. Create and manage the departmental budget while maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with federal reporting standards. Collaborate with faculty and staff to facilitate students' transition from developmental studies to college-level courses. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in education, Social Science, or a related field (Master's preferred). Experience in adult education, program coordination, or related areas. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to analyze data and make data-informed decisions. Knowledge of curriculum design and implementation practices.
