Qualifications
- Four (4) year degree
- AEL Teacher/Substitute Certification through DESE
- Must work flexible hours including evenings
- Must attend 20 hours of Professional Development annually to maintain certification
- Must participate in a 2-year mentoring program

Community Education Program Coordinator Job Goal:
To provide instruction to adults in the areas of literacy, high school equivalency, workforce development, college readiness, and English as a second language.Performance Responsibilities:
- FEC Co-Enrollments - work with FEC staff in Independence (Eastern Jackson County)
- HSE tutoring for anyone who has not made progression (priority)
- Assist with
HSE & ESL
enrollment at assigned locations- Teach Soft Skills and workforce Readiness classes each week at assigned sites
- Host Job Fairs in collaboration with FEC
- Attend Job fairs with students
- Maintain documentation for compliance with FEC and DESE
- Maintain supplemental data sheet for the Community Education program and update every 2nd and 4th quarter after student exit.
- Substitute for Community Education instructors as needed.
- Teach Summer School HSE classes at Maywood (June-end of July)
- Assist Community Education Program Coordinator with per and post testing and data entry in LACES
- Assist students with college entry and scholarships
- Assist students with obtaining and retaining employment
- Promote
HSE/IET/ESL
classes and attend partnership meetings- Attend workforce fairs/events and recruit students
- Locate resources needed for students to succeed in their career pathway
- Collaborate with Community Education and partnership staff to increase retention and remove barriers to student participation in programming. (Child care, transportation, etc…)
- Contact stop out students and develop plan for re-entry into the program.
