Job Description

Rank Lab Assistant Job Description Monitors classroom activities and enforces rules and regulations to ensure a safe and conducive learning environment. Maintains books, supplies, work aids, etc. to ensure availability of items as required. Assists students in studying a variety of subject areas up to and including high school level: English, Math, Science, and Social Studies. Reviews student work and monitors student progress and tests. Ensures that work areas are clean and neat; ensures that materials and handouts are prepared for classes. Assists in maintaining lab materials; stores materials when not in use, monitors condition, and notifies supervisor of any needed repairs/replacements. Researches and evaluates new equipment, supplies, and resources and makes recommendations regarding purchase decisions. Supports Adult Basic Education classroom teachers in assisting the implementation of curriculum and teaching methodologies. Maintains a variety of manual and electronic records and files (e.g. inventories, student activity logs, etc.) for tracking student and academic progress as an up-to-date reference and audit trail. Creates and delivers instructional lessons and academic support activities aligned with High School Equivalency and Adult High School Diploma standards to assist students in progressing toward credential completion. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution. Preferred Qualifications Previous teaching experience and a bachelor's degree in Education, Adult Education, or a closely related field.
