Job Description

Job Description:
English as a Second Language Instructor. Successful candidates will be able and willing to implement a task-based approach that helps prepare students to use English effectively in their daily lives.
Duration:
11 weeks per cycle, 3 cycles per year (next cycle begins at the end of August)
Locations :
North or South Philadelphia PA Instructional Hours:
6-8 PM on Mondays/Wednesdays or Tuesdays/Thursdays (North Philly location) OR 5:30pm-7:30pm on Mondays/Wednesdays or Tuesdays/Thursdays (South Philly location)
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required. ESL certification or Master's degree preferred. Experience teaching ESL required. Knowledge of adult education theory and practice preferred. Basic computer literacy required. Knowledge of Google Suite preferred.
Responsibilities:
Provide instruction that is consistent and coordinated with the program to ensure that students meet and exceed learning targets. Develop and deliver lesson plans that utilize a broad range of appropriate teaching techniques and strategies. Differentiate and scaffold instruction to assist all students in developing their reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills in the target language. Generate and administer assessments for the purpose of evaluating student progress. Maintain complete and accurate records of student attendance, student progress and evidence of growth. Provide a supportive learning environment that encourages student responsibility and agency.
Salary:
$30/hr (4 hours of instruction + 1 hour of paid prep time per class per week) All successful applicants must undergo background checks. All classes meet in-person. This is not a remote or hybrid-eligible position.
