In this role, you will leverage your expertise in standardized testing, classroom management, and curriculum development to deliver engaging, effective instruction. Your passion for teaching and commitment to student success will help unlock each learner's potential, fostering confidence and mastery in test-taking strategies. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students' academic futures while honing your instructional skills. Duties Design and deliver dynamic SAT and ACT preparation lessons tailored to diverse student needs, incorporating effective lesson planning and presentation skills. Utilize learning technology tools to enhance instruction, track student progress, and facilitate interactive learning experiences. Develop comprehensive curricula that align with current testing standards and incorporate best practices in classroom management and adult education principles. Provide personalized tutoring sessions to address individual student challenges, especially in math, writing, and reading comprehension areas. Manage classroom environments effectively, ensuring a positive, inclusive atmosphere conducive to active learning and engagement. Assess student performance regularly through practice tests and formative assessments; adjust teaching strategies accordingly to maximize growth. Collaborate with parents, teachers, and school staff when appropriate to support students' academic development and test readiness. Skills Strong proficiency in learning technology platforms used for online or classroom instruction. Proven experience in tutoring or teaching standardized tests such as the SAT or ACT. Expertise in math, writing, reading comprehension, and test-taking strategies relevant to college entrance exams. Skilled in classroom management techniques that foster a disciplined yet motivating environment. Ability to develop engaging curricula that meet diverse learning styles and educational needs. Experience working with students of varying ages, including those requiring special education accommodations or adult learners. Excellent presentation skills with the ability to clearly communicate complex concepts; adept at lesson planning for maximum impact. Strong writing skills for creating instructional materials, assessments, and feedback reports. Ideal CandidatesRequired Qualifications SAT score of 1500+ OR ACT score of 34+ Prior experience tutoring or coaching SAT and/or ACT students Demonstrated student score improvements Strong communication and relationship-building skills Reliable, professional, and student-centered Preferred Qualifications SAT score of 1550+ or ACT score of 35-36 2+ years of SAT/ACT coaching experience Experience helping students gain admission to selective colleges Background in education, counseling, or academic coaching Ability to coach both SAT and ACT students What Makes You Stand Out We are especially interested in coaches who can share: Student success stories Average score improvements achieved Number of students coached Testimonials from students or families Unique coaching methodologies or strategies Compensation Competitive hourly compensation based on experience, credentials, and proven student outcomes.
