Job Summary Reporting to the Adult Education Program Director, the Full-Time Instructor is responsible for assisting the Program Director in providing a program-wide educational atmosphere where adult students can fulfill their potential by earning a high school equivalency diploma and/or improving basic skills in math, language, science, social studies and reading and/or showing level gain through the six levels as defined by the National Reporting System (NRS). They assist with scheduling classes, creating instructional programs, and monitoring classroom instruction. Job Duties Plan, teach, and evaluate student work Remain current with all curriculum changes/additions as set forth by the Tennessee Division of Adult Education (DAE) Implement and monitor classroom instructional activities to ensure a climate where students are actively engaged in a meaningful learning experience Assist in assessing changing curricular needs and offer plans for improvement using the current curriculum developed by the DAE; provide training for these changes Conduct and/or monitor staff in presenting Adult Education Orientation and Testing using TABE, CASAS and Official Practice Tests Monitor teacher and staff record keeping ensuring that effective and efficient record keeping procedures are maintained through the CMA TS program Promote a positive environment throughout the program so that students are encouraged to be actively engaged in the learning process Model professional and ethical standards when dealing with students, staff, and community Assume responsibility for meeting performance goals in courses and assist other teachers in meeting program-wide goals set by the National Reporting System (NRS) Assist in administrative duties and scheduling courses as needed Identify, select, and modify instructional resources to meet the needs of students Provide supervision of classes at off-site locations Work with the Adult Ed Transition Coach and/or Career Coach to coordinate opportunities for students to dual-enroll in postsecondary education or training programs, and ensure students take advantage of these opportunities Participate in local and state activities/staff development Complete other assignments as directed by supervision Minimum Qualifications One (1) year of teaching experience in secondary (9th - 12th grade), post-secondary, or adult education programs Preferred Qualifications Active Teacher's License Experience in Adult Education Experience with Jobs4TN or a Data Management System Experience with grading and interpreting

MS Office skills, Word, Excel, Outlook; digital records management systems; general operating systems and data information systems Demonstrates the ability to meet deadlines Strong communication and interpersonal skills Strong organizational and analytical skills Notes Work schedule is split to include up to two evenings per week This position is grant-funded.
