Work Schedule
Hours will vary based upon camp offerings. Some evenings and weekends may be required. This is an on-site position. Essential duties of the role must be performed in-person. Schedule to be determined by Coordinator, Community Programs and Dean, Workforce and Continuing Education.
Position Summary & Essential Duties

SUMMARY:
Under the general direction of the Director, Community Programs and the Dean, Workforce and Continuing Education the incumbent will lead classroom activities for K-12 camp programming. This position is responsible for the care, safety, protection and supervision of camp participants. Qualifications (Required and Preferred)MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL AND WORK REQUIREMENTS

Associate's Degree and Two Years of Experience Bachelor's Degree Current CPR and First Aid certification Previous experience working with childrenCERTIFICATION OR LICENSES
Valid Texas Driver License or the ability to obtain one Job Duties and Responsibilities The incumbent will: Teach engaging and age-appropriate lesson plans and activities in a variety of subject areas, including but not limited to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), arts and crafts, performing arts, outdoor education, and recreational sports. Develop and adapt lesson plans and teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs and interests of campers, including those with special needs or individualized accommodations. Support summer camp programming and engage campers in a variety of indoor and outdoor activities, including sports, arts and crafts, games, and educational workshops. Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that promotes creativity, curiosity, critical thinking, and collaboration among campers. Communicate regularly with Coordinator, Community Programs, to provide updates on camper progress, behavior, and program activities. Ensure the safety and well-being of campers at all times by closely monitoring activities, enforcing rules, and implementing emergency procedures as needed. Assist in planning, organizing, and implementing daily camp schedules and activities in collaboration with the Coordinator, Community Programs and fellow staff members. Foster positive relationships with campers, parents, and fellow staff members by demonstrating professionalism, excellent communication skills, and a friendly demeanor. Serve as a positive role model for campers, promoting teamwork, respect, inclusivity, and cooperation throughout all camp activities. Support campers with special needs or individualized accommodations, as required, to ensure their full participation and enjoyment of the camp experience. Maintain cleanliness and organization in camp facilities and activity areas, including setup and cleanup before and after each activity session. Attend and actively participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and other professional development opportunities as required. Assist with administrative tasks, such as registration and check-in, tracking attendance, completing incident reports, and providing feedback on camp operations to camp leadership.SOCIAL CONSTRUCTS REQUIRED OF POSITION
