Full Job Description Job Overview:
We are seeking a passionate, hands-on farm school teacher for our homeschool community. This teacher would lead students in experiential, outdoor learning with a focus on horticulture, gardening, and animal husbandry. This role blends education, agriculture, and mentorship
  • guiding students through real-world farming practices while fostering responsibility, stewardship, and a deep connection to the land.
The ideal candidate is passionate about Jesus, hands-on education, flexible in their approach, and excited to work within the homeschool community model.
Positions Available:
Horiculture teacher for Elementary
  • High School students
Key Responsibilities:
Curriculum & Instruction Develop and implement hands-on curriculum and lesson plans in plant science, gardening, and soil health. Plant and maintain crops. Supervise students and ensure safe farm practices. Assist with farm maintenance and operations. Class Leadership Foster a positive and respectful learning environment. Supervise and mentor assistant teachers Manage class routines, transitions, and behavioral expectations with consistency and care. Program Coordination Collaborate with program leadership to align lessons across grade levels. Help coordinate activities and special events as needed. Provide input on program development and long-term planning.
Class Days:
Wednesday and Friday; teaching days may vary based on specialty
Work Environment:
Outdoor farm setting with exposure to weather and livestock. Physical activity required. Hours per
Week:

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's (or higher) degree in Education, Horticulture, Agriculture, or related field (required)
  • Proven Experience in farming, gardening, or related field (required)
  • Ability to work outdoors and perform physical labor (required)
  • Experience teaching in a homeschool, private, or alternative education setting (preferred)
  • Experience with 4H or comparable agricultural/youth development programs (preferred) Additional qualifications:
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively and adapt to changing needs
  • Familiarity with homeschool education philosophies.
