Agricultural Science Teacher

Job Summary Deer River High School is seeking a dedicated and passionate Agricultural Science Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. This full-time position involves developing and delivering engaging curriculum that covers various aspects of agricultural science, including plant and animal biology, environmental science, and sustainable practices. The teacher will play a vital role in fostering students' interest in agriculture and preparing them for future careers in this essential field. Responsibilities Develop and implement a comprehensive agricultural science curriculum that aligns with state standards and educational goals. Assess and evaluate student performance through tests, projects, and presentations, providing constructive feedback to support their growth. Maintain a safe and organized classroom and laboratory environment that encourages exploration and experimentation. Collaborate with other faculty members to integrate agricultural science concepts across various subjects. Organize and supervise extracurricular activities, such as FFA (Future Farmers of America) events, agricultural fairs, and community service projects. Stay current with advancements in agricultural science and integrate new technologies and practices into the curriculum. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and the school community regarding student progress and program initiatives. Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge of agricultural science. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Science, Education, or a related field. Valid teaching license in Agricultural Education. Strong knowledge of agricultural principles, practices, and technologies. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students, parents, and colleagues. Ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment that supports diverse student needs. Experience in teaching or working with youth in an educational or agricultural setting is preferred. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities.
