Position Information Position Title Extension Agent I - Williamson County Division College of Agriculture Department Extension Services Number of hours per week 37.5 Days to be worked Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday Months per year Fiscal (12 months) If modified, list months Job Type Full-Time Campus Other If other location, please indicate Franklin, TN Position Number 120880 Advertised Salary Pay Basis Monthly Job Description This position is based at the Williamson County Extension office, in Franklin, Tennessee. The extension agent is responsible to the County Director for administrative and program matters. The agent will spend 100% of their time with adult agriculture programs.
Duties include:
  • Plan, execute, evaluate and report on Adult Agriculture programs and activities
  • Engage in site and farm visits, phone calls, workshops, newsletters, media, etc.
  • Assist clientele with decisions in marketing their product
  • Establish and maintain good working relationships with education officials, related agencies, community groups, elected and appointed officials, and the general public
  • Assume other duties as necessary due to vacancies or as assigned by the County Extension Director, Program Leader or TSU Associate Dean of Extension Minimum Qualifications Requires a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture with a concentration in animal or plant science, preference being animal science.
Experience in Extension, teaching or working in a position involving livestock, forage, or horticultural production is preferred. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with teams, an ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, to document and market program impacts, and provide leadership and demonstrate self-reliance in a collaborative environment is desirable.
