Salary:
Based on district salary schedule + stipend + TIA eligible
Benefits:
$500 toward employee insurance, $500 or 1% of salary matching 403B, $1000 volunteer stipend
Primary Purpose:
To provide students with rigorous instruction in agricultural science and technology while promoting leadership development, career exploration, and supervised agricultural experiences through the FFA program. The ideal candidate will foster student engagement in both classroom and extracurricular activities, preparing students for success in post-secondary education, industry certifications, and careers in agriculture. EISD is committed to providing resources to continue to grow the program.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university Valid Texas teaching certificate in Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources (AFNR) CDL or willingness to obtain (preferred)
Experience:
Experience in agricultural education and FFA leadership preferred Willingness to supervise SAE projects and attend FFA events, contests, and conventions
Responsibilities:
Instructional:
Teach courses such as Principles of AFNR, Livestock Production, Small Animal Management, Equine Science, Floral Design, Advanced Floral Design, and Horticulture or others as assigned Utilize effective teaching strategies to meet individual student needs and promote academic success Integrate hands-on learning, technology, and real-world agricultural practices
Program Management:
Maintain an active FFA program, including LDE/CDE participation, stock shows, leadership conferences, and local events Supervise student SAEs, including livestock, placement, and research projects Manage and maintain the ag shop, or facilities safely and efficiently Collaborate with school administration, parents, community stakeholders, and agricultural industry partners
Extracurricular & Travel:
Attend evening/weekend contests, stock shows, and conventions (local, area, state, and national levels) Serve as a positive role model for students while promoting responsibility, work ethic, and teamwork

Demonstrate strong classroom management and communication skills Maintain accurate records for FFA, travel, and student progress Engage in ongoing professional development Support campus and district initiatives Perform other duties as assigned How to
