Job Description
Adjunct faculty members in Animal Science are responsible for providing high-quality instruction in classroom, laboratory, and/or field settings. The instructor supports student learning by delivering engaging course content, assessing student performance, and maintaining a positive and inclusive learning environment aligned with the mission of the community college using an online platform. Master's degree with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in Animal Sciences, Agriculture and/or related courses from a regionally accredited institution of higher education AND t hree years experience in Agriculture or related industry. Practical experience in animal production, livestock management, veterinary support, or agricultural operations is preferred. Experience with online or hybrid instruction is preferred. Adjunct (part-time), semester-based employment with compensation based on course load and institutional pay schedule. An active participant in the Ag industry. Knowledge of animal science principles, including nutrition, reproduction, health, and management. Computer literacy required with ability to use instructional technologies and learning management systems such as Blackboard. Ability to communicate with written and oral expertise in the English language. Proficiency in the use of agriculture equipment and machinery operation. Ability to promote an effective environment for learning in lecture and lab experiences. Ability to teach students from diverse cultural and social backgrounds. Deliver effective instruction in Animal Science courses (e.g., Intro to Animal Science, Livestock Management, Animal Nutrition, or related areas) Utilize instructional technology and the learning management system (LMS) Blackboard for course delivery and communication. Preparation of Agriculture curricula; make recommendations for curriculum revisions, equipment purchases, textbooks, etc. Communicate clearly and professionally with students regarding expectations, progress, and academic support. Evaluate student performance through assignments, exams, and practical assessments; provide timely feedback. Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student progress and submit certification of roles to registrar by required deadline. Adhere to college policies and provide timely, constructive feedback to support student learning and improvement Teach courses according to syllabi and textbooks as approved by the department. Perform other duties as assigned
