Job Description

Instructs students in courses representing the HMCA program.

Associates Degree from a nationally, regionally or identified at the state level accredited institution of higher education required and five years of food service or industry related experience required. Culinary team-member and past teaching experience (hospitality and culinary related courses) will reflect positively upon applicant's resume Must posse a valid NRA ServSafe Certificate.- Must be punctual, dependable and have the ability to follow directions and proficiently complete tasks. Must possess excellent communication skills and have the ability to interact with students during course lectures and food demonstration phases. Must possess a basic understanding of the skills and knowledge related to all hospitality, culinary arts and baking related program courses. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Demonstrates skills in instruction and facilitation before large and small groups. Demonstrates planning and organization skills. Teaches hospitality courses as assigned each week of the semester. Meet scheduled classes on time and keep students actively engaged in learning the entire class period. Ensures strict accountability and confidentiality regarding student records. Prepares daily lesson plans to ensure students are progressing through the required objectives of the courses. Prepare a concise syllabus/course outline to be given to students the first day of class. Ensure proper sanitation and safety procedures are maintained. Maintain attendance records for Central Texas College. Maintain a grade book for each course taught and enter students' grades in the CTCD computer system accurately and in a timely manner. Ensure confidentiality of all tests and student records. Performs other tasks as assigned by the department coordinator or campus dean.
