Immediately Job Description Primary Purpose Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences in the Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources Career Cluster designed to fulfill their maximum potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Enable students to develop competencies and technical skills in agricultural mechanics, welding, livestock production, agricultural science, and related career pathways. Qualifications Education/Certification Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • Valid Texas teaching certificate with appropriate Career and Technical Education (CTE) certification in Agriculture Science and Technology Special Knowledge/Skills Knowledge of agricultural science, agricultural mechanics, welding, livestock production, small engines, and power systems
  • Ability to operate and instruct students in the safe use of agricultural equipment and tools
  • Knowledge of Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) for Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources
  • Strong classroom management, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to supervise student projects, FFA activities, and livestock shows
  • Knowledge of shop safety procedures and agricultural laboratory management Experience Student teaching or approved internship
  • Experience in agricultural education or related agricultural industry preferred Major Responsibilities and Duties Instructional Strategies Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with TEKS and district curriculum requirements.
2. Teach courses in agricultural science, agricultural mechanics, welding, livestock production, and related subjects. 3. Provide hands-on instruction and supervise laboratory/shop activities safely and effectively. 4. Prepare students for industry certifications, postsecondary education, and careers in agriculture. 5. Utilize instructional technologies and project-based learning strategies. 6. Differentiate instruction according to student needs, abilities, and learning styles. 7. Maintain a classroom and shop environment conducive to learning and safety. Student Growth and Development Encourage leadership, teamwork, responsibility, and career readiness. 9. Establish and maintain standards of student behavior. 10. Monitor student progress and provide timely feedback. 11. Sponsor and supervise FFA chapter activities and student participation in competitions, livestock shows, and leadership events. Program Management Maintain inventory and care of tools, machinery, equipment, and instructional materials. 13. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and district procedures. 14. Coordinate supervised agricultural experience (SAE) programs for students. 15. Assist in development and promotion of the district's Agriculture Science program. Communication Maintain professional relationships with students, parents, colleagues, community members, and industry partners. 17. Communicate effectively regarding student achievement and program activities. Professional Growth and Development Participate in professional development activities and agricultural education organizations. 19. Stay current with emerging agricultural technology and industry practices. Other Attend faculty meetings and required district events. 21. Perform other duties as assigned by campus administration. Supervisory Responsibilities Direct student aides, interns, and student agricultural project teams as assigned. Working Conditions

  • Exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, livestock, machinery, and shop equipment
  • Occasional prolonged and irregular hours for competitions, livestock shows, and FFA events Terms of Employment Salary and work year to be established by the Board of Trustees and administrative regulations.
Evaluation Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on evaluation of personnel.
