Falk College is seeking a part-time instructor to teachMFT 603 M700
Introduction to Trauma Studies (3 credits) in the Summer 2025 (5/12/2025•8/22/2025) semester. This course is an overview of trauma studies and examines trauma typology, prevention, and intervention and is taught through an ecosystemic lens.Learning Objectives:
Articulate the difference between stress, acute stress, traumatic stress, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and complex trauma. Demonstrate the difference between the major types of trauma and their effects on individuals, families, and communities. Analyze the neurobiological, psychological, interactional, and contextual characteristics of acute stress, traumatic stress, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and complex trauma. Assess the neurobiological, psychological, interactional, and contextual components of traumatic effects. Explain grounding and coping strategies employed to stabilize physiological responses, trauma mind states and interactional cycles. Comprehend empirically based preventive and intervention practices in trauma studies.Qualifications:
MA or PhD, and previous online teaching experience.Job Specific Qualifications:
