Job Description

Job Description Minneapolis College is seeking applications for a potential adjunct and/or temporary part-time instructor in Residential Construction Topics for the Architectural Technologies Department within the School of Design and Arts. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to excellence in career and technical education, and eager to contribute to an environment that values integrity, collaboration, equity, and diversity.
Salary Range:
Compensation for under 5 credits is $1,650 per semester credit. Those teaching more than five credits are temporary part-time employees and can move to the faculty salary schedule.
Instructor Responsibilities:
 Provide classroom instruction for Residential Construction topics as it relates to the learning outcomes of this course. Plan, develop, and deliver curriculum specific to Residential Construction. Evaluate and assess student progress toward learning goals. Maintain consistent communication with students and colleagues. Support the mission, vision and core values of the college. Promote diversity and cultural competency. Participate actively in the college community through committee work and inter-departmental collaboration. Minimum Qualifications Must possess or meet minimum qualifications for the Minnesota State colleges and universities credential field of Nursing, Clinical AD, #500165: Visit https://www.minnstate.edu/system/asa/academicaffairs/cfc/fields/500165.html  for details. Education Requirement Associate's degree in architectural drafting/technology or a degree in architecture. Occupational Experience Requirement Four full-time (or equivalent) years of verified related paid work experience in architectural drafting/technology or as a license/registered architect. Recency Requirement One year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field. The recency requirement shall be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years. Preferred Qualification Knowledge of technology is needed to construct residential architectural projects.  Expertise in various residential construction systems, including foundation systems, wood-framed construction, insulation methods, water-resistive barriers, exterior doors and windows.  Knowledge of residential building code application and interpretation.  Knowledge of structural and mechanical systems.  Other Requirements Current and former employees must be in good standing with Minneapolis College to be considered for the position.
