Must be within commuting distance Hybrid work requirements: 3-5 days a week flexible must be able to travel to the US with valid passport Associate Archivist Confidential Organization | Financial Services About the Role Our client, a well-established and highly respected organization, is seeking an Associate Archivist to support the management and preservation of its corporate archives. This role offers a unique opportunity to work with historical records and artifacts in a professional, enterprise environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining archival collections, supporting research requests, and contributing to initiatives that bring the organization's history and legacy to life. Key Responsibilities Archival Management & Preservation Catalogue physical and digital archival collections using established standards Support the transfer (accessioning) of records and artifacts into the archives Perform preservation activities to ensure long-term protection of materials Digitize collections to enhance accessibility Research & Access Respond to internal and external research requests using archival databases Retrieve and digitize records and images as needed Manage access in accordance with privacy, confidentiality, and copyright requirements Projects & Initiatives Support special projects, including: Implementation of a Digital Asset Management System Coordination of heritage displays across multiple locations Transfer of archival collections between sites Contribute to initiatives that promote and enhance the visibility of archival collections Travel within Canada and the U.S. as required (valid passport required) Engagement & Content Development Deliver presentations and tours in both English and French Research, write, and publish content based on archival materials Support the maintenance and curation of exhibits and displays What You Bring Education & Expertise Master's degree in Library and Information Science (MLIS), with a specialization in Archival Science (completed or near completion) Training in archival management and preservation techniques Experience describing, cataloguing, and providing access to archival records Technical & Professional Skills Knowledge of archival standards, digital archives, and emerging industry trends Experience with archival systems and/or digital asset management tools Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Adobe Photoshop is an asset Strong research and writing skills Core Competencies Bilingual in English and French (required) Strong organizational and time management skills High attention to detail and ability to manage sensitive information Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Demonstrated project coordination skills Additional Requirements Ability to lift/move materials up to 40 lbs Willingness to travel as required Valid passport required Cover letter must be included with application
