Job Description

Position Summary Summer position providing a unique view of the Library and Archives of a major international arts institution. This is a full-time, 8 week summer internship which provides a one-time $1500.00 housing stipend reimbursement. Training is provided. Priority for Lunder internships will be given first to Colby College students; second to Maine college students; and third to Maine residents who are attending college out-of-state. Major Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions) Working closely with the Archivist the Lunder Intern will Organize newly accessioned archival material on past Clark exhibitions and events Update existing collection organization and finding aids to enhance access Identify and select primary source material for digitization with a focus on the history of the campus architecture and grounds. Scan the material using established best practices and create a public facing landing page for the material on the Clark's digital asset platform Minimum Qualifications Education, Training, and Skills Applicants must be college students. Priority for Lunder internships will be given first to Colby College students; second to Maine college students; and third to Maine residents who are attending college out-of-state. Attention to detail and passion for organization. Work Experience Entry level position. No library or archives experience necessary. Physical Demands:
Ability to sit at a desk/workstation and use a computer for prolonged periods of time. Ability to walk on inclined, uneven, wet, and slippery surfaces for up to 6 miles a day. Ability to climb stairs. Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time. Ability to bend and reach.
Work Environment:
Work will be performed in an office environment, museum spaces, and outdoors. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate but can be high.
