Job Description

Reporting to the Team Lead, the Digitization Technician will be responsible for scanning documents using a large document scanner. The images created are to be reviewed for accuracy. The documents will need to be prepared for scanning and renamed once in digital format. While scanning, this position will need to identify any issues with the items that are being worked on. This can include issues of fragility, scanning procedures, image naming, etc. In addition, this position may be asked to assist with other tasks, such as preparing records for digitization. This might entail ensuring records are properly arranged within each box by matching it to an inventory list, and labeling records with the unique identifier provided on the inventory. The Digitization Technician performs some of the critical functions involved in document conversion.

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Familiarity and 1 year or more experience with computers and/or preservation tools are required.
  • Experience in the scanning/digitization process or related fields is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Windows OS is preferred.
  • Willingness to work on multiple sites is a plus.
