Type:

Part-time, permanent.

Salary:

$13.73 per hour. (Minors at 85% rate.)

Hours :

3 to 9 hours per week, plus flexibility to substitute as needed. Must be available for day, evening and weekend hours. This is a permanent part-time position.

Qualifications :

Candidate must possess excellent organizational skills, with meticulous accuracy in alphabetizing, spelling, and reading. Must be familiar with and understand the Dewey Decimal System, with attention to detail, and an ability to learn and follow instructions carefully. A test may be given. Must be a self-motivated person, 14 years of age or older, who can work independently, and needs minimal supervision.

Job Duties:

Primarily responsible for carefully and accurately shelving returned library materials to their proper locations throughout the busy library. Your job will also include emptying the indoor and outdoor book return bins, inspecting items for damage, and organizing materials that are returned. Shelf reading will also be part of your regular job. A certain area of the library may be given to you to maintain on a consistent basis.

Physical Activity Requirements:

1. Must be able to lift and carry up to 35 lbs. 2. Stooping, bending, squatting, twisting, pushing and pulling. 3. Grasping and handling items, lifting heavy items overhead. 4. Moving throughout the library, using a stool to reach up. 5. Standing and walking for two to three consecutive hours a day. 6. Good vision.
