DESCRIPTION
The Library Internship offers a hands-on opportunity to learn how a public library manages its collections, preserves local history, and serves the community. Interns will assist with organizing and maintaining materials, gaining insight into information management, collection organization, and the lifecycle of library resources. The role also provides exposure to asset management and the processes used to evaluate and responsibly manage surplus materials. In addition, interns will work with historical collections, learning how to handle fragile items, assess their significance, and help make local history accessible through online and digital resources.
QUALIFICATIONS
Applicant must be a part- or full-time student at a college or university. Applicant must have a high school diploma and at least 15 credit hours towards an associate or bachelor's degree. Current transcript required.
