The Opportunity:
West Liberty University is seeking applications for a Visiting Faculty- Director of Bands and Percussion member. T he Department of Music & Theatre at West Liberty University is seeking applications for a Full-time Visiting Professor of Music to serve as Director of Bands and Percussion• instructor.
Essential Functions of the position:
Direct the Marching Hilltoppers and Concert Band Direct other ensembles as needed by the program and according to the candidate's expertise Coordinate instruments and equipment related to the duties of a Director of Bands Teach Applied Lessons. •Percussion is preferred but woodwinds and high brass candidates will also be considered Teach other courses as needed by the program and according to the candidate's expertise and experience Lead Recruitment efforts for all degrees: Music Education, Music Performance, and Music Technology Positively represent the program, department, college, and university at on-campus and off-campus performances and other events
Education & Experience Requirements:
Masters degree in Music required, Doctorate preferred Percussionist preferred but woodwinds and high brass candidates will also be considered Experience leading collegiate Marching Band and Concert Band is required Steel Band experience is preferred

Anticipated Faculty Appointment Date:
August 1, 2026 A faculty member is expected to participate in continuous improvement in the areas of teaching, professional development, and service to the University and community. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
