Job Description

Art Teacher•Drawing & Painting (Ages 4-11) US Arts Education Center / Art Scōl Rancho Peñasquitos & UTC / La Jolla•San Diego, CA US Arts Education Center and Art Scōl are looking for a passionate and reliable Art Teacher to join our team. We are seeking someone who genuinely loves working with children and believes in nurturing creativity, confidence, and individual artistic growth. Our studios serve students of all ages, from young children through teens and adults. At this time, we are primarily looking for a teacher who enjoys working with our younger students, ages 4-11 (Transitional Kindergarten through 5th grade). Our program focuses on building strong foundations in drawing and painting while helping each child develop their own artistic voice. Unlike many art programs that rely on group projects, our classes emphasize individual development. Each student works on their own artwork while receiving thoughtful guidance and instruction tailored to their level, pace, and personality. Teachers work closely with students, helping them grow not only as artists but also in confidence, focus, and creative thinking. This role is ideal for an artist who enjoys teaching, mentoring young students, and contributing to a warm, positive, and supportive studio environment. We are looking for someone who values art education not only as a skill to teach, but as a meaningful way to support the growth, confidence, and creativity of every child. Responsibilities Teach drawing and painting classes for students ages 4-11 (TK-5th grade) Guide students through structured lessons while supporting individual artistic development Maintain a positive, respectful, and encouraging classroom environment Support students in developing both artistic skills and creative confidence Maintain appropriate classroom boundaries and model professional conduct Collaborate with the teaching team to support student growth and progress. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Art, Fine Arts, or a related field Strong foundation in drawing and painting Prior experience teaching children preferred Reliable, responsible, and punctual Patient, enthusiastic, and supportive with young learners Strong communication skills and professional classroom presence.
