$52,000 per year. The Art Teacher at St. Rita's School must be alive with their Faith and eager to share it with their students, parents, and colleagues, must be faithful, mission-driven, collaborative, and growth mindset oriented. All teachers will share duties and responsibilities in school planning, scheduling, and implementing curriculum within a blended learning rotation model. Professional growth opportunities in differentiated instruction / assessment, Standard-Referenced Grading, and blended learning will be provided. Teachers lead one or more school-wide programs/activities with the support and cooperation of the teaching staff and administration. Teaching Responsibilities Plan, develop, and utilize a variety of instructional materials and aids for a blended learning environment. Develop units of work, lesson plans and assessments that are in accordance with established procedures that maximize learning while teaching the State Standards for Art. Provide small group and individual instruction to motivate learners, and effectively utilize time available for instructional activities in a blended-learning environment. Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction and assessment. Maintain appropriate standards of learner behavior, using age-appropriate management strategies and techniques, including positive reinforcement for a blended-learning environment. Provide appropriate feedback. Encourage and monitor the progress of individual learners and use data to guide instruction. Maintain accurate and complete records of learner progress and development. Update all necessary records accurately and completely as required by laws, diocesan policies and school regulations. Prepare required reports and curriculum maps. Participate in team, school, diocese and parent meetings. Communicate necessary information regularly to learners, colleagues, administration and parents regarding learning progress and student needs. Establish and communicate clear standards-based outcomes for all learning activities. Prepare and maintain an appropriate classroom environment. Use established teaching methods to support students in blended learning. Infusing Art into the culture of the school Teach Art twice a week for each grade level Collaborate with other teachers for the Christmas program, Talent Show, Art Walk, and the like Work with Student Council, Development team, and administration to help visually promote birthdays, holidays, celebrations, sports competitions, school community events Consider ways to encourage after school art enrichment Collaborate with classroom teachers and Art aide Cross-curricular projects/focus Celebrate our Catholic faith collaborate with Development team re: marketing visuals Celebrate creativity and God-given talents!Requirements:
Religious Qualifications Active, practicing Roman Catholic (required) Basic Catechetical Certification (preferred) Respects and understands a Catholic school philosophy Professional Qualifications Possess a cleared California multiple subject teaching credential (preferred) Possess a Bachelor's Degree Clear criminal background check (a clear Livescan for the Diocese of San Diego is a condition of employment) Experience teaching in an elementary school classroom Positive professional references and recommendations Physical Requirements To successfully meet the needs of the students in his/her care, the teacher must: Spend the majority of the day standing in the classroom. While standing the teacher will frequently hold objects they are working with or demonstrating Sit on an occasional basis when developing lesson plans, grading, etc. Walk through the classroom and be able to maneuver in tight spaces between desks. Walk on both even and uneven surfaces Deal with students while kneeling or squatting, stooping, or bending Reach at, below, or above shoulder height with the dominant upper extremity; may require trunk or neck rotation to look back at the class Assist in moving children's desks and chairs to change the layout of the classroom to influence the learning situation. It is occasionally necessary to lift and carry boxes weighing up to 25 pounds from the office to classrooms While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to be inside the classroom. The employee is required to be mobile to, from, and within the classroom and preschool environment, as well as maneuver throughout the school facility to attend meetings, trainings, and other work-related events. The employee may be required to conduct trips to, from, and within various city and county-wide locations to attend trainings or workshops.
