PART-TIME ART INSTRUCTOR
My Good Brain | San Diego, CA (Liberty Station) $20/hour | Up to 10 hours/week | In-Person
  • ABOUT MY GOOD BRAIN
  • My Good Brain (MGB) is a youth arts and mental wellness nonprofit operating at Liberty Station in San Diego. We use art and play to promote social-emotional learning (SEL) and mental wellness for kids, teens, and families. We're looking for a warm, creative, and mission-driven Part-Time Art Instructor to facilitate classes, drop-in sessions, and special programs in our Color Feelings Studio.

$20/hour
Hours:
Up to 10 hours per week (with opportunity to grow)

  • WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Facilitate process-art and SEL-focused classes for children ages 2-18 and their caregivers
  • Lead drop-in studio sessions and structured weekly programs
  • Support program delivery across MGB's class offerings, including toddler programs, after-school workshops, and occasional weekend events
  • Assist with setup, cleanup, and materials management for each session
  • Engage families warmly and professionally, embodying MGB's mission in every interaction
  • Collaborate with the Program Manager and Dr. Mayo on curriculum and activity planning

  • Little Mess Club | Wild Paintbrush Tots | Sunday Art Club | Teen Creative Arts | Scrap Lab | Little Sound Minds | and additional future classes
  • WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
  • Experience teaching art to children or youth in a classroom, studio, camp, or community setting
  • Genuine enthusiasm for child development, social-emotional learning, or mental wellness
  • Comfort working with children ages 2-18 and their caregivers in a drop-in environment
  • Reliable, punctual, and communicative

  • Ability to manage a mixed-age, process-focused art environment with patience and warmth
  • Background in fine arts, art education, child development, psychology, or a related field (preferred)
  • CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain
