Art Teacher

Art Teacher The Solomon Schechter Day School of Greater Hartford is seeking an outstanding Art teacher to join our faculty for the 2026 - 2027 academic year. Schechter uses a progressive multi-age educational model in which the teaching teams work together closely with each student and class. We welcome resumes from candidates with a deep knowledge of teaching Art, understanding of children's development, and the desire to work as a member of a team to enhance our multi-age school. Responsibilities of this part-time position include teaching art classes to students in grades Kindergarten through eighth grade. Curriculum should include learning about artists, and using their techniques and style as inspiration for students' own artwork. Bachelor's degree Experience teaching art is a plus Demonstrated ability to engage students and meet each student's strengths and needs; Demonstrated success in teaching elementary and middle school; The ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues; A passionate, student-centered approach to teaching; Willingness to participate fully in the life of a vibrant school community.
