About the Role The Painting Instructor trains students in commercial and residential painting, surface preparation, and equipment operation. They develop lesson plans, manage shop spaces, and evaluate student progress to prepare them for careers in the construction trades. Responsibilities Curriculum Delivery:
Instruct students on painting techniques, blueprint reading, and material estimation in both classroom and hands-on environments. Safety Enforcement:
Ensure strict adherence to OSHA and industry safety regulations, including proper handling of chemicals, respirators, and scaffolding. Skill Demonstration:
Teach surface preparation (sanding, puttying), mixing/matching coatings, and application using brushes, rollers, and sprayers. Assessment:
Grade student performance, provide constructive feedback, and track competency milestones. Inventory & Maintenance:
Manage tools, equipment, and supply inventories for the training facility. Qualifications Experience:
5+ years of verifiable journey-level experience as a commercial or residential painter. Certifications:
OSHA 10-hour or 30-hour certification, and relevant trade or vocational teaching credentials. Soft Skills:
Strong communication, leadership, and the physical ability to stand, climb, and lift up to 50 lbs. Education:
High school diploma or equivalent is required. Pay:
