The teacher creates a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages exploration of various art forms while supporting students' academic and social-emotional growth. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with state and district visual arts standards. Teach a variety of artistic techniques, media, and art history appropriate for middle school students. Foster creativity, critical thinking, and appreciation for the arts. Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs and abilities of all learners. Assess and evaluate student progress through projects, portfolios, and formative assessments. Maintain an organized, safe, and engaging classroom and studio environment. Integrate cross-curricular connections where appropriate. Manage classroom behavior in accordance with school and district policies. Communicate regularly with students, parents, and staff regarding student progress. Organize and display student artwork in classrooms, school exhibits, or community events. Collaborate with colleagues, administration, and support staff to enhance instructional practices. Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school activities.
