education curriculum Classroom behavior management Collaborative teaching Leadership Communication skills K-12 education instructional development Full Job Description A Mark Arts Youth Arts Instructor is responsible for planning and leading dynamic, age-appropriate art education experiences for youth (K - 12 grade) in a meaningful and accomplished arts education program. Instructors should be enthusiastic about working with youth and passionate about sharing the arts. Candidates must be capable of maintaining a safe and welcoming environment while encouraging creativity, exploration, and personal expression through art. Ideal candidates are dependable, collaborative, creative, and knowledgeable about child development and educational best practices. Instructors will work with students in grades K to 12 in both structured classes and special event settings such as private parties or community outreach.Essential Functions:
Design and facilitate engaging, hands-on art classes; write course descriptions for promotional use. Teach classes for children ages 3 to 12 in groups of up to 12 students; private parties may include older participants. Lead interactive and imaginative activities using a variety of teaching techniques. Demonstrate artistic techniques in an age-appropriate and accessible manner. Serve as a positive role model and mentor in the classroom. Manage classroom behavior and foster a safe, supportive learning environment. Prepare and organize materials for each class session; ensure thorough clean-up afterward. Collaborate with the Education Department regarding class programming and supply needs. Represent Mark Arts in the community and participate in outreach programming as needed. Willingness to teach K-5th grade STEAM Academy programming during the summer months. Perform additional duties as assigned by the Education Manager.Competencies:

This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities.Work Environment:
This position will primarily work in both indoor art studio settings, but will also occasionally work in outdoor environments, depending on the program or activity.Physical Demands:
Frequently required to stand, walk, talk, hear, and engage physically with students. May need to bend, kneel, crouch, or lift materials. Must be able to lift/move up to 10 pounds regularly and up to 25 pounds occasionally.Skills & Abilities:
Commitment to student development through arts education. Ability to develop and implement lesson plans independently. Experience leading educational, hands-on activities for elementary and middle school students. Familiarity with classroom management tools and positive behavior techniques.Education/ Experience Required:
Some experience in art education programs, youth development and leading student art classes. High school graduateEducation/ Experience Preferred:
Degree in Art Education or closely related field. Experience in a variety of art mediaOther Duties:
