THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
Pope Francis Preparatory School seeks a highly qualified and motivated Art Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. The ideal candidate will have experience: teaching all levels of high school Art, successfully managing a high school classroom, communicating with students and parents, and an understanding of adolescent needs. The ideal, and highly qualified candidate will: hold a bachelors degree in Art or similar and will have completed a teacher preparation program, hold an appropriate teacher certification, and have completed or be in the process of obtaining a masters degree. The ideal candidate will also be an outgoing, innovative professional with exceptional organizational, interpersonal, and written and oral communication skills. Background in ceramics is preferred.
ESSENTIAL CHARACTERISTICS AND REQUIREMENTS
A deep appreciation for the Catholic faith, the School mission, its achievements, aspirations, and contributions.

Ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations with poise, tact, and diplomacy.

A skilled communicator both oral and written; experience communicating clearly with parents/guardians.

Bachelors degree required; Masters degree preferred; relevant teaching experience required. State of Massachusetts (or equivalent) teaching certification.

Prepared to teach all levels of high school Art - possibly including AP.Skill and confidence to use technology throughout lessons and for assessments.

Collegiality and willingness to bond with department members and all faculty and staff to increase rigor and best practices.

Ability to use Google Classroom is preferred.

Willingness to become involved in all aspects of the school, including co-curricular activities desired.
COMPENSATION
