The ideal candidate will inspire creativity and foster a love for the arts among our students, while developing their artistic skills and critical thinking abilities. The Art Teacher will create a stimulating and inclusive classroom environment, encouraging students to express themselves through various artistic mediums. Responsibilities Develop and implement a comprehensive art curriculum that aligns with state standards and promotes creativity, critical thinking, and artistic expression. Plan and deliver engaging lessons that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities. Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages student participation and collaboration. Assess and evaluate student progress, providing constructive feedback and support to help students achieve their artistic goals. Organize and oversee art exhibitions, showcases, and other events to celebrate student work and promote the arts within the school community. Collaborate with other educators and staff to integrate art into interdisciplinary projects and initiatives. Maintain an organized and well-equipped art studio, ensuring that all materials and supplies are readily available for student use. Stay current with trends and developments in art education and incorporate innovative teaching methods into the curriculum. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues regarding student progress and art program initiatives. Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge in the field of art education. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Art Education, Fine Arts, or a related field. Valid teaching certification in Art Education. Previous experience teaching art at the intermediate or middle school level is preferred. Strong knowledge of various artistic techniques, mediums, and art history. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire students. Ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment that supports diverse student needs. Proficiency in using technology and digital tools to enhance art instruction. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. A portfolio showcasing personal artwork and student projects is highly desirable.
