LONG-TERM SUBSTITUTE ART TEACHER OVERVIEW
The Long-Term Substitute Art Teacher is responsible for implementing and evaluating lesson plans, instructional materials, and learning objectives in an art classroom setting while maintaining student engagement, managing behavior, and supporting a positive learning environment. The incumbent is also responsible for communicating with colleagues, parents, and students regarding student progress, classroom expectations, and other school-related matters.

$271.23/day
RESPONSIBILITIES
Implements and evaluates learning objectives and lesson plans that meet the needs, interests, and abilities of students in grades 4-6, which includes: preparing and delivering art instruction; utilizing a variety of artistic media, materials, and techniques; supporting established curriculum goals and objectives; adapting instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners; preparing and organizing classroom materials; and performing other related activities. Monitors and assesses student progress and skill development, which includes: utilizing appropriate assessment methods; evaluating student artwork and participation; providing feedback to students; maintaining records of student progress; and performing other related activities. Manages student behavior and maintains a classroom environment that is safe, organized, creative, and conducive to learning, which includes: implementing classroom expectations and applicable disciplinary procedures; assisting in the administration of school policies and rules governing student behavior; monitoring student attendance; and performing other related activities. Maintains compliance with applicable local, state, and federal laws, rules, and regulations. Participates in a variety of meetings, which may include parent conferences, special education meetings, staff meetings, staff development sessions, and other related meetings as appropriate. Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's Degree in Education, Art Education, or a related field
LICENSING REQUIREMENTS
Valid State of Minnesota Teaching License in Art Education or eligibility to serve as a licensed long-term substitute teacher in Minnesota.
