In this role, you will develop engaging curricula that integrate diverse art techniques, promote critical thinking, and encourage self-expression. Your enthusiasm for art education will help students discover their unique talents while building essential skills in visual communication, craftsmanship, and cultural awareness. As a public charter school, we are committed to providing our diverse student population with a high-quality education that prepares them for college and beyond. As a school, we work every day to improve our students' chances to attend the college or university of their choice, and to help them become global citizens. The ideal candidate will be hard-working, flexible, and have a passion for teaching Art to high school students. Our school serves a large number of students who are English language learners and students from low income households. As such, we are looking for a teacher who is culturally responsive, holds high expectations for all students, and works hard to meet the unique needs of our students. Duties Design and implement comprehensive art lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, including techniques in drawing, painting, sculpture, and digital media. Foster a positive classroom atmosphere through effective classroom management and behavior guidance strategies. Assess student progress regularly through projects, presentations, critiques, and standardized testing methods. Incorporate learning technology to enhance artistic instruction and facilitate creative experimentation. Collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary projects that integrate art with other academic subjects such as history or literature. Organize exhibitions, displays, and community events to showcase student artwork and celebrate their achievements. Experience Prior classroom experience teaching high school students in an art or related educational setting is preferred. Demonstrated expertise in various art disciplines including drawing, painting, sculpture, or digital arts. Strong knowledge of curriculum development principles and instructional best practices for secondary education. Experience working with diverse student populations, including those requiring special education accommodations or behavioral management support.

From $50,000.00 per year
