Visual Art Teacher
Our elementary school offers a holistic, gospel-centered education that includes an enriching academic curriculum, visual & performing arts classes, and individualized learning pathways. Our goal is that every student who walks through our doors will flourish! Brief Job Description Visual Art Teachers will establish an engaging Elementary & Secondary classroom (PreK-10th Grade) and class environment favorable to learning and students' personal growth. Personal and professional skill sets enable teachers to build a positive rapport with students, parents and staff members. Classroom teachers will guide students' motivations for learning and to empower them to be proficient at visual art standards for success in future grade levels in accordance with each student's abilities. Art teachers will educate his or her students in different styles, media, and techniques. Students will be trained in how to express their creativity visually. Responsibilities include creating lesson plans, teaching students about art and art history, assisting students in creating their own compositions, organizing and managing the learning environment, coordinating an art show, assessing students' performance, and participating in professional development opportunities.
