Job Description

Carney, Sandoe & Associates (CS&A) is an educational recruitment firm that connects teachers with private and independent K-12 schools across the U.S. and abroad. Our free service matches candidates with roles that align with their skills, experience, and goals. We work closely with each educator to help them find a school where they can thrive. We are currently seeking both a Lower School Art Teache r and Upper School Art Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year at an independent school in Ridgeland, MS.
Essential Duties:
Teach fundamental art skills and concepts for lower or upper school students. Introduce students to various forms of art such as painting, sculpting, mixed media, sketching, and/or drawing. Use a variety of different materials to diversify student experiences in art making . Evaluate each student's progress in their knowledge and skills. Serve as an advisor for a group of students, offering support, mentorship, and guidance to help them thrive academically and personally. Participate in ongoing professional development to stay up to date with innovations in art education. Assist with managing department budget to ensure strategic allocation of resources.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required, master's degree preferred in an art field. Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience at the K-12 preferred. Passion for visual art, art history, and the fine arts. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. U.S. Work Authorization required.
