TITLE:
Art Teacher
REPORTS TO
Principal
JOB GOAL
To teach students so that they learn subject matter and skills that will contribute to their development as mature, able and responsible men and women.
QUALIFICATIONS
Valid West Virginia Teaching Certificate, Art K-12.
Knowledge of current teaching methods for middle school and elementary art.
Wiling to participate in activities identified by the school system that enhance the Art Program, (
Example:
Art Shows & Student Contests).
Willing to prepare and present In-Service sessions to school personnel as needed.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Any combination of training and experience which would lead to successful employment as an Art Teacher.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB
Implements his/her program of study.
Fosters a classroom climate conducive to learning.
Utilizes instructional management systems which increase student learning and maximizes time on task.
Promotes and maintains positive pupil-teacher-parent relationships.
Performs other duties assigned by the Principal, Assistant Superintendents or Superintendent.
