Experienced teachers, recent college graduates, or professionals in the visual arts industry looking for a fulfilling career change are encouraged to apply! Bishop is a college prep, co-educational Catholic high school of approximately 500 students operating under the direction of the Diocese of Charlotte. Bishop McGuinness Catholic High School develops students in their pursuit of excellence. Job Summary:
As a High School Art Teacher at Bishop, you will be responsible for developing and delivering engaging lesson plans, assessing student progress, providing academic support, and creating a supportive and inclusive classroom environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching, expertise in the Visual Arts, and the ability to teach up to two sections daily between the hours of 10:00am and 2:30pm.
Duties:
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that align with the school's curriculum and educational standards for Art I, Art II, Art III or Art IV.
  • Utilize innovative teaching methods to engage students and enhance their understanding of the subject matter.
  • Assess student progress through assignments, exams, and other forms of evaluation.
  • Provide individualized support to students with diverse learning needs
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the overall educational experience for students.
  • Participate in academic advising sessions to guide students in their educational journey.
Experience:
  • Art instruction, either in a school setting or working with youth in private lessons or other non-traditional teaching environments
  • Prior experience teaching high school students in a private school setting is advantageous but not required
  • Willingness to learn and share the Catholic faith as a disciple witness.
