Job Description

Do you believe art has the power to inspire, connect, and build community? Powell Drive Neighborhood Center is looking for a passionate, creative, and engaging Art Instructor to bring exciting art experiences to participants of all ages! We're seeking an experienced artist who enjoys sharing their creativity with the community and creating a welcoming, fun, and encouraging classroom environment. If you love working with people, inspiring young artists, and leading hands-on creative experiences, we'd love to hear from you What You'll Do Lead themed community art classes for participants of varying ages and skill levels Teach and demonstrate techniques using: Paint Pencil Pen Create an inclusive, engaging, and positive learning environment Confidently lead classes of up to 24 participants with support staff assisting with setup and cleanup Encourage creativity, self-expression, and artistic confidence in students Adapt instruction for both children and adults, including children as young as 4 years old Schedule Classes are held on: Monday evenings Tuesday evenings Thursday evenings Classes may begin as early as 6:00 PM , with instructors expected to arrive at least 30 minutes prior to class start time. ADA and Other Requirements:
Positions in this class typically require stooping, reaching, standing, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions.
Sedentary Work:
Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
Visual Acuity:
The worker is required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned.
Working Conditions:
The worker is subject to inside environmental conditions; Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.
