This individual will teach courses in Visual Arts and/or Art Appreciation. Classes may be taught on any of our campus locations or online. This position requires daytime, in-person instruction at partner high school locations within the Forsyth Technical Community College service area, including sites within Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools. The selected candidate must have consistent weekday daytime availability and be able to travel to assigned high school campuses to deliver face-to-face instruction. Flexibility to teach at multiple locations based on program needs is expected Minimum Qualifications 1. MA/MFA Degree or higher, with at least 18 graduate hours in Art.
Note:
Degrees and hours must be from a college accredited by a US Dept of Education accepted accrediting agency such as SACSCOC . • 2. Successful teaching and/or work experience in art. Preferred Qualifications 1. MA or MFA in Fine Arts. 2. Successful teaching experience in a Community College environment. Essential Duties
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Assume responsibility for teaching assignments as designated by the department chairperson and approved by the dean. Assume responsibility for maintaining all required College records including attendance and grade reports, roll books, etc. Make recommendations to Department Chair for supplies, equipment, and equipment repairs. Construct, administer, and grade examinations. Assume responsibility for being familiar with and adhering to all policies of the College. Treat others respectfully, speak to others courteously and behave in such a way that creates a workplace environment that is marked by trustworthiness, honest but polite communication, and interpersonal interactions that are both personally cordial and professionally appropriate.
