Job Description
Northern Schoolhouse—the elementary division of Northern Academy—is looking for a part-time art teacher (6-10 hours a week) to help further our exciting model of education, one based on the classics, nature, and the arts. The position is open for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year. Candidates we're seeking: Think creatively and are open to working outside-the-box Possess knowledge about alternative teaching approaches Value classical mediums of fine art (painting, drawing, sculpting, etc) Possess knowledge of classical art history, compositions, and artists Have experience working with children Possess other developed hobbies and interests, especially in nature, music, art, literature, or history With the traditional one-room schoolhouse as our inspiration, Northern Schoolhouse presents an original model of elementary education, one where the educated imagination meets the compass for the heart .
