  • Job Summary
  • Philly Art Center is a dynamic hub for creativity in the greater Philadelphia region.
With 3 locations across the City and a New Jersey location, Philly Art Center believes in process learning and employs a team of creatives to deliver on it's mission. A wide range of programming for all ages supports student learning. Classes for adults take place in the evenings and on Saturday afternoons. We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Fibers Instructor to join our team and instruct 1 weekly evening class at either or Fairmount or Queen Village location on Monday evenings this summer, June 29th through August 10th. This position can carry into the school-year as well, and that can be explored in conversation. Candidate must have extensive fibers experience, ideally with some teaching experience. Dying, felting, fabric printing, embroidery.

  • Candidates must be available Mondays 5:45-9:15pm, June 29th

  • Duties
  • Instruct beginner and intermediate level students in classes that meet weekly on a variety of techniques including dying, felting, fabric printing, embroidery.
  • Develop and implement a syllabi, with support from our team, that builds skills and supports lively student engagement.
  • Support individual student needs and interests while maintaining a friendly class environment.
  • Skills
  • Strong background in fibers techniques and methodologies with a BFA in Fine Art preferred.
  • Ability to lift 40 pounds.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Passion for teaching and inspiring students to reach their full potential.
