Position Description Reimagine Education, LLC is seeking an educational innovator to provide instruction in our online School Of The Arts. Our K-12 Art Engagement & Async Learning Instructor will be responsible for leading our K-12 Art Clubs, and managing the following async art courses: ⅘ Exploring Art, MS Exploring Digital Art, HS Exploring Drawing & Painting (27-28 year start up). This art instructor will be the front-facing ambassador of our K-12 art program. This position is part of a pioneering team that is creating an innovative, all encompassing online Arts program that draws out creative potential in all students in the areas of Music, Art, and Theater. The position will report directly to the Director of the Arts. Qualifications Possess a Michigan teaching certificate for Visual Arts Education LQ or LX . Bachelors degree in Visual Arts Education; Master's degree preferred Possess the training and skill to constructively work with young artists to develop their skill and passion for artistic creation Minimum 5 years experience of teaching art Online teaching experience preferred Strong personal work ethic and ability to be productive with a flexible work schedule. Essential Duties Serve as teacher of record for the following async courses: ⅘ Exploring Art, MS Exploring Digital Art, HS Exploring Drawing & Painting (start up 27-28) Plan for and Lead weekly hour long art clubs for
K-2, 3-5, 6-8, 9-12.
Develop and maintain a positive, productive rapport with parents/guardians, students, and all MIPS staff that leads to trusting relationships. Effectively communicate with school administrators, teachers, other MIPS staff, parents and students using email, text messaging, phone, and video calls. Effectively and consistently collaborate with MIPS staff and the families being served to improve overall academic and artistic achievement Provide timely and accurate grading of student assignments. Communicate effectively with students and parents when students get behind pace. Appropriately modify curriculum, activities, and assignments when needed to meet individual student needs Establish, maintain, and clearly communicate expectations and guidelines Provide progress reports weekly to students and parents Meet with parents, guardians, and home coaches as needed to identify potential obstacles to improved achievement Maintain a detailed historical record of communication and meetings with students, parents, guardians, and home coaches Maintain a variety of confidential and non-confidential digital files and records Embrace learning of the knowledge and skills associated with new technology hardware and software Be informed of all policies and procedures Carry out other duties and obligations as assigned to facilitate the school's mission, goals, standards, and education program Employee must honor written Board Policies and Administrative Regulations Employee must be able to stand for a minimum of 30 minutes at a time Employee must be able to lift 25lbs able to sit in chair for long intervals Required Documents All applicants are required to submit a completed application, cover letter, resume, and three professional artifacts demonstrating evidence of above qualifications.
