Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and dynamic K-8 Art Teacher for the 2026-27 academic year to inspire creativity and foster artistic growth among students from kindergarten through eighth grade. In this role, you will develop engaging art curricula that align with educational standards, incorporate innovative learning technologies, and support diverse learning needs. Your enthusiasm for art education will help cultivate an inclusive classroom environment where every student can explore their artistic potential, develop critical thinking skills, and express themselves confidently. Responsibilities Design and implement comprehensive art lessons that cater to a wide range of ages, abilities, and learning styles, integrating curriculum development best practices. Utilize Learning Management Systems (LMS) to organize lesson plans, track student progress, and communicate with students and parents effectively. Incorporate various learning technologies and digital tools to enhance artistic instruction and foster innovation in the classroom. Adapt teaching strategies to meet the needs of students with disabilities or special education requirements, ensuring equitable access to art education. Manage classroom behavior proactively through effective classroom management techniques, creating a safe and respectful learning environment. Assess student work regularly using formative and summative methods, including standardized testing when applicable, to monitor growth and inform instruction. Collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary projects, participate in school events such as art exhibitions or community outreach programs, and contribute to a vibrant school culture centered on creativity. Experience Prior classroom experience teaching art at the K-8 level in a formal educational setting is highly preferred. Demonstrated expertise in lesson planning tailored to diverse student needs across childhood development stages. Experience working with children with disabilities or in special education environments is advantageous. Familiarity with classroom management strategies that promote positive behavior and engagement.
