Job Description

ACE Academy is seeking a part-time elementary and middle school art teacher with experience in PreK -8th grade classrooms . Class sizes cap at 12 students.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in area of interest Experience working with gifted children preferred, but not required Teacher's certification preferred, but not required The ideal candidate will: At ACE, we look for teachers who are flexible, curious, excel in their content area, and are full of ideas. ACE teachers are excellent communicators. Your ability to positively communicate and collaborate with your peers and parents is equally as important as your ability to communicate and collaborate well with your students.
Responsibilities include:
Plan, prepare and deliver lesson plans / instructional materials that facilitate learning for gifted learners. Ability to create strong, differentiated lesson plans with clear objectives and standards. Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment. Classroom management and accountability in accordance with the rules and disciplinary systems of the school. Provide appropriate, consistent, and meaningful feedback on work products, whether or not such product is associated with a grade. Have a clear working knowledge of developmental milestones for the age span you are teaching. Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues, administration and parents regarding a child's progress and needs. Present, in a timely fashion, student portfolios and report cards at the end of each quarter. Follow the personalized student plan for each child and adhere to the accommodations and interventions listed. Gifted and talented requirements Competency in SEL (social emotional learning), specifically how it manifests in gifted children around perfectionism. Understanding of asynchronous development in gifted learners. Preferred skills, but not required Knowledge of Restorative Practices and/or Conscious Discipline management skills Work Hours This position is for approximately 10 hours which includes teaching, prep time, and duties. Physical Demands The employee regularly stands and walks throughout the day. The employee should be able to lift and move materials under 25 pounds.
