WHO WE NEED

: We are looking for a Bilingual English and Mandarin-speaking Upper Grade Teacher to work with students in our Mandarin language classrooms for the 2023-2024 school year starting in August. Experienced teachers are highly desired. Responsibilities and Duties

KEY JOB EXPECTATIONS

: 1. Teaching a full day of instruction for two classrooms. You will work with each class for one part of the day. This includes assigning homework, developing and delivering assessments, and supervising lunches and recesses. Our class sizes are small and manageable (18 students maximum). 2. Preparing curricula and developing weekly lesson plans closely with co-teachers and principal. You will meet multiple times a month to discuss student progress and share feedback. The selected candidate should be able to work collaboratively in a team with co-teachers and other staff. 3. Communicating frequently and effectively with parents via e-mail or telephone. 4. Preparing progress reports and meeting with parents at conferences. 5. Showing great energy and enthusiasm to work with young children. We believe students learn best when they are engaged and excited about their school. The selected candidate will help foster this environment in and out of the classroom.

REQUIRED

MUST

HAVE PRIOR EXPERIENCE IN ELEMENTARY EDUCATION, 3-4

years preferred. MUST have strong classroom management skills and work comfortably, kindly, and patiently with young children. BA in education or liberal arts. Teaching credential preferred or emergency credential considered. Applicants MUST be fluent in Mandarin AND English and have good knowledge of writing conventions in Simplified Chinese . Basic experience with word processing and spreadsheets Basic computer skills (using files and folders to organize information) Applicants must show high organizational skills Applicants must show high time management skills Ideal candidates show enthusiasm and a warm, friendly demeanor to both parents and students US legal resident Must pass a LiveScan (FBI/DOJ fingerprinting) background check Please contact us with a resume, two letters of recommendation, and two professional references as soon as possible.
