  • This position is in-person only at the VOCS Tehachapi Campus. Full-time at 35 hours per week is preferred; open to part-time.
  • Under the direct supervision of the Principal, provides instruction to students served in Valley Oaks Charter School (VOCS).
VOCS is a public charter school operated by the Kern County Superintendent of Schools and is a non-classroom based, independent study/homeschool charter school. The Teacher maintains a case load of students (typically 27-30) and meets with the students and parents on a schedule predetermined by the teacher. Assists the parents to determine appropriate learning modalities for each of their children. Plans and teaches enrichment classes. Tutors students in areas where they may need additional help and/or the parent requests assistance. View Job Description Requirements /
Qualifications Education and Credentials:
  • Valid California Multiple Subject Teaching Credential required.
Experience:
  • Teaching experience is highly desirable.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) skills desirable.
  • Alternative education experience desirable.
Must possess a private vehicle, valid California driver's license and carry current automobile insurance with at least minimum coverage for public liability and property damage. Fingerprint clearance by both the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the California Department of Justice is a condition of appointment after all other required job conditions have been met. In addition to submitting the certificated application, qualified candidates should upload: Copy of Transcript Credential Copy Letter of Introduction (Letter of Interest) Letter(s) of Recommendation (Three (3) letters written within last three (3) years) Resume Requirements /
