The teacher supports the development of Spanish language skills in speaking, listening, reading, and writing while creating a classroom culture where all students feel valued and supported. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Plan and deliver engaging, standards-based Spanish language instruction for TK-8 students.
- Collaborate with Curriculum Coordinator to develop foundational lessons that promote language development through interactive strategies such as songs, storytelling, movement, conversation, and project-based learning.
- Foster a classroom environment that encourages risk-taking and confidence in speaking a new language.
- Collaborate with the principal and staff to align curriculum and instruction with district goals.
- Assess students' progress regularly using a variety of formative and summative methods.
- Use data to inform instruction and differentiate learning to meet the needs of all students, including English learners and those with diverse learning needs.
- Build strong relationships with students, staff, and families to support student success.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress and classroom activities via ParentSquare.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and staff; participate in meetings, professional development, and school events as appropriate for the role.
- Maintain organized records of student progress and instructional materials.
- Contribute to a positive school culture and support the broader school community.
- Incorporate culturally responsive teaching practices, social-emotional learning, and inclusive instructional strategies to ensure equitable access for all students.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree & (Required)
- Multiple Subject Teaching Credential - General Subjects OR Single Subject Teaching Credential - Spanish or a related field (required).
- 1 year experience teaching elementary and/or middle school music. (preferred)
- Certification in CPR that meets the standards established by the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross.
- Clear Live Scan Background check & Negative TB test.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience starting or expanding a school music program.
- Familiarity with both band and orchestral instruction.
- Experience working in a TK-8 or charter school setting.
