Overview Lingogarden Academy is a bilingual English-Spanish early childhood program dedicated to providing a nurturing, play-based learning environment where children feel safe, respected, and inspired to learn. We believe children learn best through meaningful relationships, responsive caregiving, and hands-on exploration. About the Role The Infant Teacher is responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment for infants and young toddlers. This position provides responsive care, supports each child's individual development, and builds strong partnerships with families while maintaining full compliance with California Title 22 regulations. The ideal candidate understands that caring for infants goes beyond supervision—it involves building secure attachments, observing developmental milestones, supporting early language development, and creating meaningful learning experiences through daily routines and play. What You'll Do Create a warm, safe, and nurturing environment where infants feel secure and supported Provide responsive caregiving, including feeding, diapering, napping, and comforting children throughout the day Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities that support infant and toddler growth and development Observe and document children's developmental progress and milestones Support early language development in both English and Spanish through songs, conversations, books, and daily interactions Maintain appropriate supervision and ensure children's health and safety at all times Follow individual feeding, sleeping, and care plans as directed by families Maintain accurate daily records and communicate regularly with parents regarding their child's day Ensure classrooms remain clean, organized, and compliant with health and safety requirements Build positive, respectful relationships with children, families, and coworkers Maintain compliance with California Title 22 regulations and licensing requirements Model professionalism, patience, consistency, and a positive attitude Qualifications Fluent in both English and Spanish (required) Minimum 12 ECE/CD units, including: Child Growth and Development Child, Family and Community Curriculum Observation and Assessment (or Observation and Guidance) At least 3 Infant/Toddler units are required Infant/Toddler specialization or additional Infant/Toddler coursework preferred Experience working with infants and toddlers in a licensed child care center preferred Current Pediatric CPR and First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire) Current Mandated Reporter Training Certificate Live Scan fingerprint clearance and FBI background check Ability to lift and carry infants and toddlers throughout the day Ability to sit on the floor, bend, kneel, and actively engage with young children Reliable, punctual, professional, and committed to consistent attendance Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills Passion for early childhood education and respect for each child's unique developmental journey What We're Looking For We are looking for a compassionate, dependable, and knowledgeable infant teacher who understands the importance of the first years of life. Preferred Qualifications Associate's Degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field More than one year of experience in an infant or toddler classroom Experience with bilingual or dual-language programs Knowledge of infant development, responsive caregiving practices, and California licensing regulations
