  • Opportunity to work in a collaborative and nurturing educational environment About the Role As a Spanish Teacher at Merryhill School, you will introduce students to the fundamentals of the Spanish language while cultivating curiosity, cultural awareness, and foundational communication skills.
Your classroom will be an encouraging, interactive environment where students learn through conversation, storytelling, games, and meaningful cultural exploration. In this role, you will design and deliver engaging Spanish instruction that supports students at varying levels of language development. You will help students build confidence in listening, speaking, reading, and writing in Spanish while fostering an appreciation for diverse cultures, traditions, and global perspectives. Through age-appropriate lessons and hands-on activities, you will create a joyful and academically enriching learning experience that inspires students to become enthusiastic language learners.
You will also:
  • Develop and deliver engaging Spanish lessons aligned with age-appropriate curriculum standards
  • Build students' foundational Spanish language skills through listening, speaking, reading, and writing activities
  • Encourage active participation through conversation practice, storytelling, games, music, projects, and cultural activities
  • Differentiate instruction to meet varying learning needs, language proficiencies, and student confidence levels
  • Foster a supportive classroom environment that builds confidence, curiosity, and cultural appreciation
  • Incorporate meaningful cultural exploration into lessons to help students understand and value Spanish-speaking communities
  • Assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and adjust instruction to support continued growth
  • Maintain classroom organization, student records, instructional materials, and a positive learning environment
  • Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues about progress, expectations, and classroom experiences
  • Collaborate with school leadership and fellow teachers to support a cohesive and enriching student experience What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in Spanish, Education, or a related field from an accredited institution
  • Teaching credential or certification in world language instruction preferred
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
  • Prior teaching experience, particularly in elementary or middle school, is a plus
  • Strong interpersonal and classroom management skills
  • Ability to pass state and federal background checks
  • Enthusiasm for languages, culture, and inspiring young learners To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
