Part-Time Hawaiian Language & Culture Teacher (Afterschool) Kūlia Academy Honolulu, Hawaiʻi

School Days Only (Approximately 190 Days Per Year, starting July 6th)
Hours:
3:00 PM - 4:30 PM About Kūlia Academy Kūlia Academy is Hawaiʻi's first public charter school offering a comprehensive Artificial Intelligence and Data Science pathway. We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable instructor to teach Hawaiian language and culture as part of our afterschool program. Responsibilities Teach Hawaiian language and culture to middle school students from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Plan and deliver engaging lessons that promote appreciation for Hawaiian language, history, traditions, and values. Create a positive and culturally responsive learning environment. Assist with student supervision and dismissal procedures from 4:00 PM to 4:30 PM. Collaborate with school staff to support student success. Qualifications Knowledge of Hawaiian language and Hawaiian culture. Experience working with children or youth preferred. Teaching experience preferred but not required. Strong communication and classroom management skills. Ability to pass required background checks and employment requirements. Position Details Approximately 190 workdays per year. Consistent afterschool schedule. Ideal for current teachers, retirees, cultural practitioners, college students, graduate students, and others seeking part-time work.
